Review

Saturday 21 June 2008

i got up a bit late today ..

Soch1:

"Vipin aaj chalte hi waha "

" sahi hi chalte hi magar bahut dhoor hi"

me and my roomie decided on this, to go to that place, the place which we were postponing for long now, the place which is most sought after, the place which......... cause and effect of Telugu films has sub consciously influenced me to come up with this line..

Journey1:

This place is near lalbagh Bangalore. we started at around 1:00 PM and Bangalore traffic once again decided the time we would reach the destination - 7 km away-- took 40 mins. on the way we discovered that even though lalbagh has got lots of place for parking its prohibited to park there. Cursed Lalbagh security , management, BDA , state government for this in the order above... the vibrations caused by this irritation(some people say vibrations create things not the other way yep pls read cosmic vibrations atleast here) still has not faded away and i realised some other thing has started to create vibrations of irritation in me just that with bigger frequency (forgive me i recently read tao of physics) namma bengaluuru nalli traffic tumbha ide (proof that i am learning kannada) people were actually using right side of the road to travel as the left side was stuck in 1 km long traffic chain , the car behind me tried talking to me and tell me to move on rightside of the road ... hmm hmm hmmm na na ethics basics stopped me to accept the horn language command, instead i showed attitude. 5 10 .... 15 mins i gave up took the right side and the crossed the signal . Each time you cross a signal in bengaluru traffic there is some sense of achievement which forced me to day dream when i was driving in this part ..something flashed in my mind tried to concentrate on it and missed the first left turn which i had to take ... thank god road is not like life; it gives us one more left turn if we miss one but its like life in the sense that you reach the point where you started with out your concern many times on road (me and vaibhav got this gyan on our way back to Kuvempu Nagar which is now known as B T M from palace grounds, we crossed chalukya international hotel four times on our quest to get back home)

Parking:

Damn is the least thing i can write when i realised there is no parking in this most sought after place this time i chose to take control of myself and not let out my anger but i was hungry and gave gaali to owners of this place. Then i went to park the vehicle in a movie theater near to this place

"iga bantaaa sir"

"Houdu"

"gate hattira park madi"

"Houdu" (yes)

(parked tvs victor 2004 model near gate of this movie theater)

Entry1:

we reached finally and found that there are many ppl in queue outside.

"Na daari Raha daari" -- one version of i am different

So went to the back side through a narrow passage got in to kitchen; gosh kitchen is very clean considering the halaat the building is in. Kitchen -->first floor then we were struck where to go? asked two people and realised they were not so customer friendly(Ego of software engineer gets hurt as this "care a damn for Customer" attitude defys newtons third law for them)

somehow we managed to come face to face with some one old man who said

" tickets hogaye lunch ke, ghar jao" (what does he know no breakfast ... one hour fifteen mins journey parking etc.. $%#$%# #$%#$%# #$%#$)

ok we asked where do we get tickets on a normal day

" tickets hogaye lunch ke, ghar jao jao"

i thought of becoming Anniyan(aparichit) and do nonsense.

some gentleman there said it opens again at 3:30 for snacks till then good bye...

Pact1:

" We, Venkatapur Extn roomies pledge that will never ever come here again and also make sure that none of our friends, kin , clan come here"

--- had some things to buy so we went there, it started raining which was like sprinkling salt water on the wounds but we finished with our shopping in that rain----

Soch2:

"Suresh chalte, phir chalte hi yaar, baar baar nahi aayenge, kuch tho taste kar ke aayenge.heard lot about this lets c why is it so great"

a sudden sense that i can always prove that ppl who said its great food are wrong, made me agree to this. which made us go through

Soch 2,Journey 2,Parking 2 phases again on this dull saturday

life is like road ..........

Entry2:

Once again we are at the door of this place. This time we wanted to make sure that we enter the room only after taking coupons/tickets in a desparate attempt to eat and comment on this Tiffin room. Out of desperation Vipin asked road side vendor beside the queue

"coupon kaha mil te hi"

"Coupon kis liye jo lenaa wo lo aur paise do"

this small incident has brought some smile on my face but i was quick enough to get back to critic and serious mood.

My Aviator was showing 3:25 PM. we thought if this place is so famous since 1924 why didnt they open many branches and cashed on it? Why cant they provide parking facility? Crap !!

This time i asked three more guys who were in queue but none of them seems to know the procedure as this is even their first Darshan. I thought this is it people just come with out knowing .. the reason and its all hyped up.

900 seconds passed, its about to touch threshold levels just then the main door of the so called , so famous MTR since 1924 has opened. Now we got to witness a slight modification of Darwins theory. we ran and quickly got to the first floor in the way my eyes caught glimpse of very old photos (i think i have seen Sarvepalli Radha Krishnan ) but the situation didnt permit me to wait for a second and confirm the fact. we went there and grabbed places on a table.

the Ambience as mentioned in 100 reviews (i have read only 2) is very very ordinary plastic chairs granite tables. oops ... i think they didnt renovate the place after 1924. But i must say it was spotless.

we were served two glasses of water the glasses were spotless and almost new.We gulped the water and were ready to criticize each and every thing. we got on to ambience already.

"Order kya hi"

"Tumare pass kya kya milta hi"

out of the long list we selected gulab jamun, halwa, masala dosa, bisibelbath, cofee, tea.

few more minutes wait atlast we got the so called MTR's famous tiffins

gulab jamun was served.

i took a spoon and held it on to the jamun and didnt realise when the jamun was cut " Hey its very soft looks ok kya bolte ho" i agreed.

Taste1:

the piece of jamun literally melted in my mouth i felt like " "

25 years- i grown up eating tons of sweets and arguably best you can get, trust me instantly i realised i have never eaten any jamun as good as this ,critic in me was loosing to save him i tried one more piece but it proved that the first opinion one was not a mistake. and it was served at opt temperature

jamun :A+

Halwa: A+

Masala Dose: If you are not from south and have not eaten any typical south indian home masala dose, we from venkatapura extn strongly recommend you to try this out and know taste of actual masala Dose again A+

Bisibelebath: This is the first time i ate such high quality bisibelebath, spices etc added with 84 years of experience and perfection. A+

Then coffee was served in silver glasses and was good A+

We have decided that we will come next week end for lunch!!

At once i hated myself for the lack of Knowledge in any language which would have allowed me to describe this experience more apptly.

Telugu Basha Aatma Kadha-1

“Desa bashalandhu Telugu lessaa” -- Sri Krishna Devarayalu

Have you ever come across this sentence? If you are a Telugu you might have came across this sentence more than once like me. I have heard this, read this sentence but never wondered what the history behind this language is. Never thought beyond learning and reading as a mother tongue (No time for this kind of work...) But for the last three weeks (after 24 yrs [:)]) I was kind of doing research on this topic "History of Telugu”.. Was it the only language spoken in Trilinga Desam? How did it come in to existence? What’s the literature in it? ……………………………… o gone in to this world .
If you think there is a need for knowing these things continue to read this post or you know it better what to do :P
1 2 3 Go.....

Anaganaga oka desam .. Its name is Trilinga Desam . the region which is in between three jyothirlingas was called so. There were many tribes living here from the begining (very long time there was a mention about this in MahaBharatam as well)... some of them are Gondi,Konda ,Kui,Manda,Parji ,Gadaba ,Kolami ,Pengo,Naiki ,Kuvi ,Tenugu .. all had there own language which belong to proto Dravidian family and were in some form similar to Telugu (or Tenugu..)

Over a period of time Tenugu was the language much more spoken among the common public and this language evolved to what we know today as Telugu.
Even though Telugu was spoken commonly, the official language (in some BC periods and till may be 500 - 600 AD ) was 'Prakrut' which is similar to Sanskrit. All the Royal declarations etc were in this language. There are few inscriptions found recently which show that around 100BC few kings used Telugu on inscriptions.

Similarity between Kannada and Telugu script is largely because of the Pallava rulers who ruled both the regions.

To be continued..........

Chiru Megastar

I am a big fan of Chiru so lets start with SDZB review .here it goes ..

"200 days guarantee" .
Chiru in the lead has stunned(this word chosen) the crowds once again. Boss (as most of us call him) comedy has its own style it doesn't matter even if the film is a remake.
Chiru's acting has never got negative feedback and his dancing skill adds to what ever he does. There were movies which were commercially successful just cos of Boss dance steps. If it comes to comedy 'drunked acting' he can be given a Doctorate. Boss none is your equal. Megastar is Megastar and will remain a Megastar....

wait!!! don't think it goes on like this. For everything there is an end can that be true for Megastar?
As a fan i can appreciate this film but as a normal movie goer hmmm..... i doubt. Boss with his bulky screen presence no doubt has done a good job and danced well for his age but shouldn't he start thinking of quitting the industry? At least the lead roles in particular.
Crowds have seen Chiru as a good dancer, good actor and has given him a status which was not given to anyone earlier, there is nothing for him to prove ........but this memory may be corrupted(sorry am a software engg) if he continues to do films in this way.
If we take a look at the younger generation in the Telugu industry (Prince in particular) Boss can be confident to stop taking lead roles as industry has got a bunch of youngsters who are really good at what they do and can entertain Telugu crowd.

Being a Chiru fan i myself feel that he should not quit but thinking practically i felt that he should quit.
He should quit to remain a Megastar in our memories.

Ofcourse theez is my opinion.

Jai Telangana

Rational behind Telangana movement at least now is purely political benefits and nothing more than that!!

Even though the TRS leaders are selling the idea of Telangana being not developed and being neglected by the government I seriously don’t understand the developments which are happening in other regions and are not happening in Telangana.

Why do they see development in Hyderabad as nothing to do with Telangana region? When it comes to splitting the state

Hyderabad is not projected as happening place. But Telangana as a state needs Hyderabad. This clearly shows that developments in Hyderabad good indicator of the potential of developments which are yet to happen in Telangana region.

Quoting from one of the Congress Leaders statements that" Congress has to take quick decision and support the cause of jai Andhra movement otherwise it will loose even in Andhra as it has lost in Telangana region"

This shows that the so called leaders are worried about the power rather than the state itself.

If the people of either regions are thinking that what the leaders are projecting is true and there will be growth only after splitting they are mistaken. The situation won’t change a bit but the problems get worsen due to the two new state governments and all the nonsense.
